    From take a knee outrage
To take a life insurrection
Bookends to a failed experiment
White nationalism
White supremacy
White privilege
“White fragility”
Supported by an Evangelical cult
Itself with two bookends
Unborn babies
Religious privilege
While born babies get put in cages
The other is outcast
Other colors
Other countries
Other religions
“Other fragility”
Bookends need to be placed
To hold the constitution upright
Reparations then Reconciliation
Redemption comes with a price
Not for an end times jihad
This time
This place
This country
“This fragility”
Time for cult members
To see the light
Of Freedom and Justice
For All
The two bookends of unity

  • courage

    From the heart, it seeps into the rest
A drop at a time
Creating rings, ever widening
Never ending
Throughout one’s soul
And into the hearts of those nearby
Eventually reaching all surrounding life
On every shore
Waiting for change, receptive to hope
Courage is the wave
Created by one drop of faith
In what could be done

  • missed minutes of heaven

    That time you drove past the single mom
Changing a tire in the rain
You didn’t stop to help
And missed a few minutes of palpable joy
Or when you scolded the dad at the store
Buying last minute diapers
With a screaming child
And brought hell into play for your own peace
And the time your child needed comfort
After being laughed at in school
Instead you quoted
A long dead maxim that ignored opportunity
You open a door that is quickly slammed
When you rush intimacy
Into gratification without gentleness
And the chance to whisper love instead of shout
You miss minutes of heaven every day
When you are not present
Not looking for moments
To bring joy and love to the world you have
May you see that you have enough heaven
To last for eternity
In your moments on earth
Time only matters in the realm of kindness

    When eternity dies
We must seek out wisdom
Present justice is elevated
Legacy becomes paramount
When eternity dies
Peace can be conceived
Hope will be in the present
Faith grows from knowledge
Love is formed from inside out
When eternity dies
Today is reborn

    The waves are the sea
each different yet the same
rising and falling
The soldiers are us
each different yet the same
rising and falling
Wars will not bring peace
each memory is held close
falling then rising
Peace will not bring wars
when memory is held true
rising and rising
The soldiers are us
each different yet our own
falling and falling
The waves are the sea
each different yet the same
